After participating/winning multiple local/national competition/project exhibition, Kafi, Antara & Maisun realized they need a fixed name for their team. The name they picked is, “Team Centurions”. Driven by the passion for science, technology & innovation, they took a leap of faith and dared to build the first satellite of Bangladesh. Not only they had to build their own CubeSat, they had to carry on their own individual space research.
Abdulla Hil Kafi:
Kafi’s research for his M.Sc. degree has been “Single Event Latchup Measurement”. SEL occurrence is associated with Galactic Cosmic Radiation particle. Outer space is not a complete vacuum. Heavy ion, protons and electron can cause internal short circuit. Kafi’s research will enable us to understand SEL occurrence in space better.
Raihana Shams Islam Antara:
Antara’s research for her M.Sc. degree has been developing a new mechanism for CubeSat Antenna Deployment. Antenna deployment system are usually housed outside. Additionally, nichrome wire consumes a huge amount of power during operation. As opposed to conventional nichrome wire based antenna deployment system, Antara’s design promises more reliability & less risk deployment system.
Maisun Ibn Monowar:
Maisun’s research for his M.Sc. degree has been Satellite communication for high speed CubeSat mission data downlink. CubeSat usually has a limited communication window. However, CubeSats perform incredibly sophisticated missions now a days. Maisun’s research looks into the possibility of downlinking more data without sacrificing in terms of power or space.
